Today in enrichment, we learned about confucius. He believed in many different things. He believed that people that worked hard were less valuable. Confucius thought that people with natural talent are more valuable. He also thought that you should not give points in school for effort. What do you think? I think that you should give some credit for doing your best. If I had a student that tried his best, and a student that didn't try at all, I would give the person that tried but got a 60 a piece of candy. The person that didn't try but made a 100, I would tell him good job. I think it is better when you try your best but don't get a super good grade is better.

Immanuel Kant Should you lie? 

Should you ever lie? Immanuel Kant was a German philosepher. He believed that you should never lie. Kant believed that because it dammages you emotionally. What do you believe? I believe that when it is something that you won't get in trouble wtih much, you should tell the truth. If it is something very important, like saving a person's life, you might tell a lie even though you shouldn't. When there was someone I didn't like, I would probably get them in trouble by telling a lie. Even though I shouldn't i probably would because I just don't like them. haha :,]

Martin Heidegger 

Do we control technology or does technology control us? Martin heidegger was a philosepher that believed that technology was not just a mean to an end. He lived in the 20th century [1889-1976]. My most important pieces of technology that is important to human happiness is the light bulb, phones, and showers. If we didn't have any of these things, then life would be pretty bad. If we had no lightbulbs we wouldn't be able to see, we wouldn't have phones, etc. I couldn't even imagine having no lightbulbs! Thank you Thomas Edison!!!!!! Haha, but then stores would probably close at five o'clock in the winter! In the summer they would probably close at about six or seven. Life would be horrible. If we didn't have telepones it would be bad. When there was an emergency nobody would know because they couldn't communicate unless somebody was standing right beside them. Then whoever was dying would die because they couldn't call a doctor. That would be sad. If we didn't have showers, ugh gross. Everybody would smell horrible! I couldn't stand it! I take at least one shower a day.If we didn't ever take showers, it would be pretty gross. Three pieces of technology that harm the environment the most are cars, factories, and machines that cut down trees. Cars burn gas and pollutes the air. Without the air we may not be able to breathe. We don't need cars. Next we don't need factories because the factories blow smoke into the air. The smoke makes you cough and not able to breathe. We do not need machines that cut down trees. We need trees because they help us breathe. We can not live without them! Don't use much paper!
