Abel's Island

This year in school we're reading a book called Abel's Island. This book is written by William Steig. It won the Newberry Honor Award. Through the eyes of a little mouse it helps us learn our talents when we are pushed to the limits when we have to do things like that. It is about a rich little mouse that thinks he is all that. He is snobby and self-absorbant... His name is Abel. Unfortunately for this little guy, [or should I say Mouse] gets swept away in a hurricane.

Reflection of book

So, after the book we learned many new things. We learned lots of life lessons. The one that had the best impact on me is that when God puts you in a certain situation, you can discover many new things about yourself.I have discovered I am good with my hands. If you have a lot of pressure on you or you're in a life or death situation, you can discover things about you. Sometimes you can be a leader and be brave and sometimes you can discover that you are smarter than you think. Overall, you can really open up and learn new things about yourself. God gives you challenges in life. He wants you to overcome them. Succeed in life and do your best. This all happened to Abel. At first he was fancy, then he changed. THis shows you know how there are many challenges, and you will overcome them if you try your best.
